EU to spend €54 million on maternal, newborn health in Bauchi, Adamawa, Kebbi

The European Union (EU) will spend 54 million Euros to strengthen and promote primary healthcare, maternal and child health and newborn babies and reduce deaths associated with maternal and child health in Bauchi, Adamawa, and Kebbi States.
 
This was contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Abubakar Al-Sadique.‎
 

Govt to reduce maternal mortality

Oyo State Government on Friday said it would continue to give priority to child healthcare toward reducing maternal mortality in the state.

 

Dr Abdul-Azeez Adeduntan, the Commissioner for Health, told newsmen in Ibadan at a news conference to herald the 2016 Maternal, Newborn and Child Health week (MNCHW).

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bi-annual weeklong event will commence from Dec. 12 to Dec. 16 across the 33 local government areas of the state.

 

Adamawa flags off maternal newborn, child health social protection scheme

The Maternal Newborn and Child Health Social Protection Scheme has taken off in Adamawa State.
 
The programme, supported by the European Union and UNICEF, was flagged off on Monday by wife of the state governor, Maryam Bindow.
 
At the ceremony in Malabu village of Fufore Local Government Area, Mrs. Bindow urged mothers, who are the major beneficiaries, and health workers involved in the scheme to give the intervention their full support.
