NURHI RENOVATES FAMILY PLANNING CLINICS IN LAGOS

Friday, August 12, 2016

In its bid to improving the quality of family planning services in Lagos State, the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI) recently renovated and commissioned Family Planning Clinics in Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) in Agege, Oshodi-Isolo, and Alimosho Local Government Areas.

Others were selected from PHCs in Ejigbo, Isolo, Ikosi-Isheri, Aboyi-Ketu, Agbado-Okeodo, and Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

This initiative, known as 72-hour-makeover involves assessment of facilities and their readiness to provide Family Planning services, and identifying the gaps that need to be filled to provide effective services.

Speaking at the commissioning of the newly renovated Family Planning Clinic in Sango-Agege PHC Centre, the Head of Administration, Mrs. Mayowa Ikuforiji expressed satisfaction with NURHI’s efforts.

“I would like to thank NURHI for this initiative, the 72-hour renovation of the Family Planning Clinic. We appreciate it and as you have made me an ambassador of NURHI. I’ll certainly be coming here to counsel our people on the need to go for family planning; the need to have the number of children we can conveniently cater for.”

While appreciating NURHI, the Chief Nursing Officer of Iyana-Ejigbo PHC Centre, Jenny Udoh also thanked the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board for accepting the initiative.
