TCI Commences Training of Journalists on Reporting Child Birth Spacing in Bauchi

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Project The Challenge Initiative (TCI) has commenced a three days intensive training for over 23 Journalists on the uptake of Family Planning services in Bauchi State.
Declaring the training open today in Bauchi, the First Lady of the State, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed said that the media are partners for any meaningful development, hence their ability to work with the government and development partners is important in creating awareness among the people.

Cholera outbreak: NCDC records 82 suspected cases in Adamawa, Bauchi, Katsina.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, yesterday said no fewer than 82 cases of suspected cholera had been recorded from seven local government areas in Adamawa, Bauchi and Katsina.

The agency gave the breakdown of affected state as Adamawa 60 cases, Bauchi two cases and Katsina 20 cases.

The Director-General of the council, Mr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, said out of the 82 suspected cases, 36 were confirmed in laboratory and one death recorded.

Nigeria: EU to Spend €54 Million On Maternal, Newborn Health in Bauchi, Adamawa, Kebbi

Bauchi — The European Union (EU) will spend 54 million Euros to strengthen and promote primary healthcare, maternal and child health and newborn babies and reduce deaths associated with maternal and child health in Bauchi, Adamawa, and Kebbi States.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Abubakar Al-Sadique.‎
