Health Minister: Why Buhari Could Not Be Treated in Nigeria

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole, has assured Nigerians and the international community that there is no cause for concern over President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.

He also said that the president could not be treated in Nigeria because of the long existing bond between him and his foreign doctors, saying health was a complex issue.
 

National Assembly to raise health budgetary allocation to N1trn

For the first time in several years, the National Assembly is pushing to raise 2017 health budget to N1.094 trillion in adherence to the 2001 Abuja Declaration, which recommends a minimum 15 percent of total annual budgets be dedicated to health sector.

Group tells President appoint Special Adviser on HIV/AIDS

A group, Society for Women and Children Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (SOWCHAN), has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a Special Adviser on HIV/AIDS.

 

The group also condemned the government’s poor attitude towards the funding of the HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

 

SOWCHAN made its demands on Tuesday, November 29, after invading the Abuja venue of the National Conference on HIV Prevention in Nigeria.
