WBFA advocates for improved supply chains and access to family planning in Africa

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa and its Founder and President Toyin  Ojora-Saraki participated in the Family Planning Summit 2017 in London,  United Kingdom from Monday 10 July to Tuesday 11 July.
 
The summit was  organised by the United Nations Population Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates  Foundation and the UK Department of International Development to discuss  efforts to reach Family Planning 2020 goals and ensure that around the  world women and girls are better able to plan their families and their  futures.
 

Aisha Buhari lays foundation of 50-bed Maternity Centre in Daura

The Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, on Thursday laid the foundation of a 50-bed Maternity and Child Care Centre in Daura, Katsina State, to promote child and maternal health in the area.
 
Mrs Buhari said the project was fully funded by the Aisha Buhari Foundation under the Future Assured programme.
 
She said the aim of the project was to reduce maternal and child mortality, adding, “ we would ensure that we establish a well-equipped, functional maternity centre in each of the six geo-political zones in the country.”
 

Edo gets $1.5m federal fund

The Edo state government received federal government’s $1.5 million “Save a Million lives” intervention fund to the state.
 
Governor Godwin Obaseki the commended the federal government for releasing the money when he hosted the Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, at Government House in Benin on Saturday.
 
He said the fund, geared toward improving maternal and child health, would be judiciously used in the state.
 

Agwan Gwuragwu - A Community in Neglect Calling for Government’s Intervention

Agwan Gwuragwu in Karomajiji is a secluded community for people living with disabilities. The community is located along the airport road by the National Military Cemetry which is after the national stadium in Abuja. One of the major challenges for the inhabitants of Agwan Gwuragu is the absence of a health centre.
