The Federal Government has urged Stakeholders to increase their investments portfolios in the provision of “sexual reproductive health services” to fast track the development processes of the country for improved living conditions.
 
The Director of National Population Commission (NPC) in Gombe state, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim disclosed this on Tuesday at a press conference to mark 2017 World Population Day (WPD) activities in Gombe.
 

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa and its Founder and President Toyin  Ojora-Saraki participated in the Family Planning Summit 2017 in London,  United Kingdom from Monday 10 July to Tuesday 11 July.
 
The summit was  organised by the United Nations Population Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates  Foundation and the UK Department of International Development to discuss  efforts to reach Family Planning 2020 goals and ensure that around the  world women and girls are better able to plan their families and their  futures.
 

The wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has affirmed the importance of family planning. This was in a keynote address she gave at an event organized by the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Board and National Population Commission in collaboration with the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) to mark 2017 World Population Day.

Nigeria has increased its funding to commitments for expanding access to family planning for millions of women and girls worldwide to four million dollars.
 
The Health Minister, Professor Isaac Adewole made this declaration at the Family Planning  Summit in London, United Kingdom, where more than 60 governments and partners pledged commitments of at least $2.5 billion.
 
Professor Adewole said Nigeria’s commitment will go a long way in reaching thousands of women and girls with critical reproductive health information.
